Dear Sir,
Unfortunately after the bad experience we had at the end of 2004 on our flight from Portland Oregon to Frankfurt (Please see our letter from last December 19 to you)
We have to complain again.
On October 20 2005 we were as business class passengers in the flight 469 from Portland to Frankfurt. Our seats were 3A and 3C.
We liked the new shape and the new seats in the business class. But unfortunately all the flight was the opposite of our expectations.
It has started with non-stop problems with your screens. Every time we started to watch a movie the screens after half an hour stopped working. All the efforts of your Stuarts to reset the screens (at least 5 times during the flights) ended with blank screens and with no possibility to watch them neither to listen to music. Not to mention that there were hours that the screens could not be turned off at all and were blinking into our eyes.
After giving up at this point, I took out my laptop computer connected it to the power and started to work. After half an hour we realized that there is no power and found out that your power supply from the seats does not work at all.
So we decided to try to fell a sleep for a little time, but there was no chance for it too.
Not only that the screens were blinking into our eyes but also in addition to it the lamp above the seat behind us could not be turned off. As a result of it a 2 years baby that was seating there could not fell a sleep and was crying most of the time.
What was astonishing is the fact that we heard from other passengers who came from Frankfurt to Portland three weeks before that particular flight that they faced the same problems.
We could also understand from your crew (that really was embarrassed and tried to do every thing) that those problems are familiar to them since a long time.
So our question to you is: Why do we have to fly in the business class of Lufthansa?
You must agree with us that there are other much cheaper ways to be tortured.
As Senators members we must tell you that the moment another airliner will fly directly nonstop from Europe to Portland we shall go with them. Not because our willing to do it but because Lufthansa is pushing us so to do.
