Rude refusal of service and humiliation of elderly customers נושא התלונה:

My mother who is 70 years old and her friend of approximately the same age needed service from bank Leumi. My mom's friend's visa card expired and she wanted to request renewal of her credit card. My mom and her friend only speak Russian. They came to Ofakim branch of bank Leumi. They went to one of the clerks and tried to ask for help. He didn't want to assist then and didn't try to get for them anyone who speaks Russian. So my mom called me on the phone and wanted the clerk to talk to me so I could translate. (I speak Hebrew). However clerk simply hung up on me and refused to talk and demanded that my mom and her friend leave his office. He even raised his voice on them. My mom called me and she was nearly crying. I called to Ofakim Branch of Bank Leumi and spoke to someone who claimed to be the manager of the person who rudely threw my mom and her friend out of office. He claimed first that he couldn't provide any service because there is no one in the branch who speaks Russian. However, after I pointed out that he suppose to provide service to his customers he asked me to tell my mom and her friend to come back to the branch and that he personally will make sure that they will receive appropriate service. So I called my mom and persuaded her to come back. However, to my shock when they did come back to the branch the manager (I think the one that spoke with me) simply told them that he didn't want to talk with them. This is beyond any level of rudeness and lack of service and simple respect for the elderly.
